Swedish Platform for System Innovation Research in Interaction
Mission
In recent years, there has been a significant shift in innovation policy from a focus on economic competitiveness and growth to addressing broader societal challenges. This shift necessitates a transformative approach to innovation, one that contributes to system-wide changes.
SIRI aims to develop, mobilise, and pool capabilities and resources on a national level to advance understanding and governance of system transformation processes in Sweden.
SIRI stands for System Innovation Research in Interaction, encapsulating our commitment to supporting systemic change and innovation by connecting researchers, practitioners, and policymakers across disciplines and sectors.
Activities
Our platform engages in several activities:

-
Community building: Strengthening networks and building trust within the system transformation community through regular meetings and interactions.

-
Research agenda development: Creating and updating a research agenda focused on relevant and pressing societal challenges and themes.

-
Knowledge exchange: Synthesising research and organising seminars and training sessions to share insights and promote learning.

-
Policy seminars and dialogues: Facilitating discussions between researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to develop joint initiatives.

-
Specific initiatives: such as macro-trend analyses, transformative innovation policy (TIP) courses, and the Swedish Schumpeter Lectures.
SIRI’s organisation is a reflection of its collaborative and multi-stakeholder approach.
